As we finish our studies looking at local, state, and national government, we will take a few days to embrace Martin Luther King, Jr.'s work. The students will be exposed to picture books about his life.

It is refreshing each year to see how these young minds cannot wrap their heads around the injustices of our past. It gives me great comfort in the future of our country when eight-year-olds just can't understand why people were treated this way.
