It's ELECTION DAY! It is a very exciting day in our nation's history. What a privilege it is that we, as Americans, have the right to vote. As third graders we are learning the basics of the election process. We have focused the majority of our time in learning about the Democratic and Republican candidates. I read the books Barack Obama: Son of Promise, Man of Hope and My Dad, John McCain. The students created a book of their own about each of the candidates. We focused on three phases of each man's life: growing up, young man, and politician. Our focus was not on what each candidate promises to do in office, but rather each man as a person. We cannot wait to share these books with you at our conference time!
